HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Hope you’re enjoying your day off. And for those who have tomorrow off as well, lucky you! Looking forward to meeting more Canadian bloggers this week.

As of this moment, we’ve got no plans for Canada Day. Relax at home, maybe?

I remember our first Canada Day. We did the touristy thing and went to Canada Place, watched a big group taking their oath of citizenship, then waited and watched the fireworks. I think that was the first and only time I ever did that.

That was 12 years ago. I’ve since taken my own oath of citizenship. Proud to call myself a Canadian. But I’ve not forgotten where I came from.

At first I wasn’t too happy about moving to Canada, I thought I was doing well back there. I was about to start my 4th year in University and had great friends. Heck, I didn’t even know where Canada was, I had to look it up in the map. And I remember making plans with a classmate to meet up cause she was visiting family here about a month after my move. I’m in Vancouver, she was going to Toronto.

Now I can’t think of what my life would be like had we stayed back there.

I’m happy here.
