idox Traveler Series iPhone Case Review and Giveaway (Blogmania Sponsor)

idoxThe idox Traveler Series cases are different from what we usually see. It’s a hard case that turns into a stand when you open the flip cover.

idox was kind enough to send me the iPhone Hard Case and Stand to review.  My first thought when I first saw the case was that it was too big. Definitely not like most cases that feels and looks like the iPhone’s 2nd skin.

The case came with easy to follow instructions on how to insert and remove your iPhone. Putting it in was a breeze. Removing the iPhone took a few tries at first before I managed to get it out. It got easier the more I practised. You can still connect your earphones and sync cables with the phone attached. But I have to take my phone out if I wanted to take pictures. I see on their site that they’ve come out with a case that has a camera opening. For the same price, I would pick the other one, no need to take the phone out to take pictures.

The iPhone fits snuggly in the case as described on the site. I just had to take my phone out of the silicone case to make it fit. I imagine those with thick iPhone skins would need to take them out as well. The flip cover provides protection for the screen. I’m not sure if it’s just this case that I have, but the cover gets stuck when I close it with the iPhone inside. If it’s empty, there’s no force needed to open the case.

nanoWhat I really love about the case is how it turns into a stand. I’ve used it in the office to listen to music. My daughter watches her videos on it. It helps keep her hands away from the screen. It’s also pretty light, so doesn’t add too much weight. And it looks like it can survive a few drops.
